RIEW Veliko Tarnovo hosts a joint training seminar entitled „Presentation, operation and promotion of a common guidance, manual and methodology. Use of specialized equipment for water and air monitoring in emergency situations and/or accidental pollutions of the environment.” under Strategic project „Joint Risk Monitoring during Emergencies in the Danube Area Border“, reference number № 2s-2.2-1, MIS-ETC Code: 166 financed by the European Regional development fund and the State budgets of Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Romania under the Crossborder Cooperation Programme Romania-Bulgaria 2007-2013.
The seminar wil take place in the period 29-31 May 2014 in Veliko Tarnovo with the kind assistance of „Projects and Scientific Research – Proekti i nauchni izsledvania PRONI“ EOOD – Gabrovo. The objective of the event is to provide opportunities for acquainting with and expert discussion of the outcome of the joint work, namely the best practices for prevention and control of environmental pollution, the action plan concerning The Low Danube waters as well as the methodology for inspections under Directive 2010/75/ЕС on industrial emissions (integrated pollution, prevention and control) and Directive 96/82/ЕС on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances (a.k.a. SEVESO II) among project partners, Ministry of Environment and Waters, Executive Environmental Agency and Basin Directorate for Water Management Danube Region – Pleven, the Regional laboratory to the Executive Environmental Agency in Veliko Tarnovo as well as the regional environmetal inspectorates from Northern Bulgaria.
The work programme of the event includes presentation of the Common communication procedure in emergency situations signed between the environmental partners RIEW Veliko Tarnovo and National Environmental Guard of Romania. There will be carried out a live demonstration of the purchased in the framework of the project specialized equipment for air monitoring in instances of major-accidents and / or accidental pollutions. The live presentation itself will take place on 30th May on the Stambolov bridge in Veliko Tarnovo. You can check the detailed programme of the seminar here.
On 30th May 2014 at 12.00 h will be signed a Cooperation Agreement between RIEW Veliko Tarnovo, National Environmental Guard of Romania and ICMET Research-Development and Testing National Institute for Electrical Engineering – Craiova, Romania for environmental protection, encouragement of the adaptation to climate change, risk management and prevention in the cross-border area of the Danube river in the period 2014-2020. A news conference will take place at 12.30 h.
