Five members of the team working on the Strategic project RISK at the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Waters in Veliko Turnovo participated in a work meeting, organized by the Joint Technical Secretariat to Crossborder Cooperation Programme Romania-Bulgaria 2007-2013.The meeting was held on 3rd July 2012 at the Conference Hall of the Regional Council in Giurgiu.
At that meeting the Chief Inspectorate for Emergency Situations at the Romanian Ministry of Administration and Interior, a leading partner in the project, presented the progress in implementation of the activities financed under the major project modules and the results achieved so far by concrete indicators.
The results achieved and reported by RIEW Veliko Turnovo rank the environmental inspectorate first among the project partners regarding level of completion of the activities according determined deadlines and provision of benefits for end beneficiaries of investments/equipment purchased. The project team contribution to strengthening cross-border cooperation for effective management of natural and anthropogenic risks existing in the Danube river cross-border area in the first year of the project implementation is shown below:

Project leader from RIEW Veliko Turnovo Ms.Kamelia Djanabetska made an evaluation of the investments made and the equipment purchased which correspond to the needs of target groups and comprise the first step towards satisfying the needs of the parties and responsible institutions in the Danube river cross border area.
In the Technical Meeting for analysis of projects, financed in the framework of Key Area of Intervention 2.2 Development of Infrastructire and Joint Services for Intervention in Emergency Situations took part the following people: Dipl. Eng. Elena Grigorova, Managing Director of the Regional Environmental Inspectorate, representatives of the Managing Body of the Programme – the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism of Romania as well as representatives of the National partner body from Bulgaria – Ministry of Regional Development.
